Why Idaho?
It’s one of the few places in the U.S. where you can golf, bike, ski, go camping, canoeing, and boating — all within 45 minutes of home. Southwest Idaho, known as the Treasure Valley, is often ranked as one of the nation’s best places to live. The area is anchored in Boise, the third-largest city in the Northwest, and covers 1,645 square miles.

The Treasure Valley is family-friendly but enjoyable for the single person, as well. (Think: an array of food options, nightlife, cultural attractions, and a variety of living choices.) The Boise foothills provide both world-class recreational opportunities and a stunning focal point — especially in early spring, autumn, and after a snowfall.
With four distinct seasons, generally mild winters, and hot days in late summer, Idaho's climate is ideal. The area is situated in the high desert, with dry air that makes even hot days feel pleasant. Much of Southwest Idaho lies in zones 6 and 7 — perfect for gardening. You’ll see flowers, shrubs, and trees bloom for several months before changing color.
